Sendy is a self-hosted Newsletter manager. We've got a couple instance of Sendy running, and instead of manually upgrading each when a new version comes out, we simply run the following script for each. It's based off of the instructions from Sendy's Get Updated Page.
Nix is a package manager that lets your install software into a separate user profile and a system profile. The system profile is available for users of NixOS, and the installed software is specified in the
/etc/nixos/configuration.nix file. For those on distributions other than NixOS, software can only be installed imperatively(via the command line instead of a configuration file) into the user profile. With a small trick, we can specify our user profile declaratively instead of imperatively.
Headway is a Wordpress plugin that lets you Drag & Drop yourself to a custom theme. At first, it isn't obvious how to setup a custom 404 page, but if you're an experienced Headway user, just set your layout's content block to a custom query. And as with all posts on PHP, this post exists to help the other poor souls that have to exist in PHP world, not to endorse the continued existence of PHP or Wordpress.
This site uses the Bootstrap Molokai theme, which I based off of the Molokai Vim color scheme. Converting a Vim color scheme to a Bootstrap theme is fairly easy but somewhat time-consuming. This post documents the process used for creating the Bootstrap Molokai theme.
